Covid compliance update April 2021

Cricket has returned to Preston Old Road with senior training underway, Thursday 15/04/21 see’s the return to junior training so overall a big relief and great to see. However as well as the work carried out already including risk assessments and extensive planning, including signage and additional facilities it’s important that all players, parents, and potential spectators are aware of the guidance. We all have a collective responsibility to ensure the safety of our communities by ensuring compliance with the latest Government guidance especially Cherry Tree Cricket club.

Please read carefully the full updated current policy documents and guidelines which can be found here

Return to cricket for all ages

This weekend saw two friendlies for the 1st and 2nd senior cricket teams having returned to train on the 30th of March. We can now confirm the return to training for juniors.

The first training session will be on the 15th of April for all juniors above 7 years of age. Our coaches and volunteers will be taking registers and working strictly in line with ECB guidance to ensure the venue and all participants are COVID secure. Details of our COVID policy are available on request.

The following week we will then add a further group to allow for the youngest age group ages 4 – 7. This is aimed at a fun introduction to cricket often for younger brothers and sisters. It is not anticipated that the clubhouse and bar will be open on the 15th. However, facilities such as toilets, first aid, etc will all be available. Please ensure children turn up ready to play.  Our junior cricket coordinator Steph Elmy will be there.

Membership fees are payable online there is one fixed fee for the season that covers all training sessions. The fees include coaching, enrollment, equipment, upkeep of grounds. All players MUST join and pay the relevant fees here. There is also the potential to play weekly games subject to availability from the league and selection.

Support Cherry Tree CC through COVID 19

As a club run by volunteers we rely on incoming funds from membership and organised functions in order to cover our ongoing costs. During the current situation our income streams have all but dried up. Many people have asked how they can support the club through these testing times. We  thought we would arrange some options to generate funds that will be used for the club to ensure its ready to bounce back when its safe to do so. We are planning some virtual / online events open to all to have a bit of fun while supporting your club.

Fundraising events are run through our various social media platforms, and for more information on specific events please refer to our Facebook and Twitter pages. However, payment for the events should be made with the links below. All entries are subject to funds clearing in in the clubs PayPal account. Any winnings will be repaid to individual via the PayPal account they used to enter.
