Bar re-opening on 16th of April

At the end of a difficult year and we’re delighted to be opening at 5pm on Friday 16th April.

After 12 months of restrictions, it’ll be wonderful to have people in and around the Club. However, there are still some tough regulations and until the 17th May we can only operate outdoors so here’s what we’ll do:

  • We are building a permanent roof over the patio;
  • An 8m x 6m, heavy-duty  marquee will be erected at the side of the patio (taken down during matches);
  • Everyone must be seated at all times; you must order, consume and pay at your table;
  • Toilets will be accessed through the changing rooms. No access to the Clubhouse.
  • We are aiming to have around 80 seats plus, weather permitting, people can bring their own chairs and tables and enjoy sunny days at the Club!
  • We are also aiming to have heating on the patio and in the marquee.

From Friday 16th April the opening hours will be as follows until 17th May:

  • Friday:      5pm – 10pm.
  • Saturday:  2pm – 10pm.
  • Sunday:    2pm – 8pm.

We need extra help during opening times as we have to order from, and take drinks to, tables. If you can volunteer to help us take drinks and payment at tables during opening times please let us know. Two hour stints would be appreciated and no previous experience is necessary – just a willingness to help us get restarted. Please email us or contact Pete directly by email, Messenger, or by mobile.

We’ve got a lot of catching up to do so as soon as we are able we will be hosting a wide range of entertainment and activities to get our community back together.

Return to cricket for all ages

This weekend saw two friendlies for the 1st and 2nd senior cricket teams having returned to train on the 30th of March. We can now confirm the return to training for juniors.

The first training session will be on the 15th of April for all juniors above 7 years of age. Our coaches and volunteers will be taking registers and working strictly in line with ECB guidance to ensure the venue and all participants are COVID secure. Details of our COVID policy are available on request.

The following week we will then add a further group to allow for the youngest age group ages 4 – 7. This is aimed at a fun introduction to cricket often for younger brothers and sisters. It is not anticipated that the clubhouse and bar will be open on the 15th. However, facilities such as toilets, first aid, etc will all be available. Please ensure children turn up ready to play.  Our junior cricket coordinator Steph Elmy will be there.

Membership fees are payable online there is one fixed fee for the season that covers all training sessions. The fees include coaching, enrollment, equipment, upkeep of grounds. All players MUST join and pay the relevant fees here. There is also the potential to play weekly games subject to availability from the league and selection.

Club re-opening – Membership now open

We bring great news news, the club is re-opening and we’re opening up our membership and at a reduced cost. With the green field at our disposal we have the biggest outside area and play area in the town!
The club will re-open it’s doors on Saturday the 4th July, from 4pm and will be open to members only. Therefore, anyone wishing to enjoy our wonderful club must first renew their membership, all adults wishing to enter the bar will be asked to present their cards.
In the first instance membership will be renewed online via our website Membership, once you have renewed your membership online you will receive an email receipt which you must bring to the club so that your old membership card can be replaced with a new one. Please help to support your local cricket club on and off the field, by renewing as early as possible.
We have had to make many changes to keep our amazing members safe and to comply with the Governments COVID-19 guidelines and there will be more information on this over the coming days. For cricket membership these have been reduced to 50% off AGM agreed fees for 2020 season to reflect the shorter season and reduced cricket.
When you renew online you will be given the option to either collect your card from the club (this will be quick and easy), or have it posted to you for an additional charge to cover the postage.
Pete will be at the club Monday to Friday this week between 5 and 7 pm for you to collect your card.
Remember the number of people allowed in side the club will be reduced, and it will be table service only, and there will be a queuing system for those drinking outside. Everyone using the club whether inside or out must provide their name and contact number in order to comply with COVID track and trace.
We look forward to seeing you back in the club and thank you for your continued support.
